Born and raised in San Francisco, Maria now resides in Austin, Texas with her four children and five dogs.
Maria is the Director of Administrative Operations for the Texas Charter Schools Association. She has been with the Association for the last 7 years and is a proud advocate for school choice and providing every student in Texas with access to a quality education, regardless of a family’s geographic boundaries or socioeconomics.
After a ten year hiatus to raise her family, she returned to school and received her BBA in Business Management from St. Edwards University in the spring of 2012. She is currently a Juris Doctor Candidate at St. Mary’s School of Law. With a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work she hopes to complete her law degree in the winter of 2017. God willing, there’s an MFA in Creative Writing in that life bucket list, too.
Enjoys reading, writing, and ranting, not necessarily in that order. Just your average over-analytical, neurotic woman who writes to make people laugh, smile, and think. Works in the day, attends school at night, writing in between every chance she gets. Short stories, essays, and memoirs are her poison.
One day she intends to finish writing the book she’s been working on and hopefully, if enough of you like this blog, she’ll have some fans willing to buy it.
Mother, Writer, Genius, Comedian, Queen of her Queendom.
Disclaimer: As a creative writer I reserve my right to embellish or omit details from the stories in my blog. While many of the feelings I express and try to inspire my readers to feel are genuine, rest assured, this blog is not a clear map of my life. It’s a glimpse of pieces of it, with added pizazz for entertainment. Can’t have social workers or haters flipping through this blog thinking they know me because they read a couple posts I wrote. Just sayin’…
